Welcome!

Considered by many who have visited as one of France's loveliest villages, Bargemon is situated at an altitude of 480 meters and surrounded by delightful countryside with olive groves. With an abundance of shady trees and cooling fountains, the medieval village provides a peaceful retreat from the frantic world of the Cote d'Azur. But is still large enough to support a small supermarket, two bakers, a bank and ATM, several restaurants and cafes, art galleries, a pharmacy, swimming pool and tennis court. Your life in Bargemon can be lived without ever needing to get back into the car!

Bargemon has been the choice retreat for many famous scientists, alchemists, poets and artists. Strolling through the old village one is charmed by the narrow streets and the little village squares each boasting their own fountain with water as pure as any to be found in France.

Things to see in Bargemon include the church of St. Etienne, the chapel of Notre Dame de Montaigu, the ramparts of the old village (with the still-standing medieval gateways), the Chateau du Reclos (just outside the village), the Sarrasin tower, the old prison (1582), and the museum-gallery Honoré Camos.

But, if you do feel like venturing out of Bargemon, in an hour you can be swimming in the Mediterranean or the deep blue waters of Lac St. Croix, walking with the glitterati along the promenade in Cannes or St. Tropez or all by yourself in the unspoilt Provencal countryside, marveling at the wonders of the Gorge du Verdon, Europe's answer to the Grand Canyon and one of the great tourist attractions of Provence.

And a bit further afield are the delights of Grasse, Aix en Provence, the Camargue, Monaco and even Italy.
